Jonathan Dykes new Executive Director

Over the past 3 months Katoomba Christian Convention has been searching for an Executive Director. This is a new role, created to meet the challenges and opportunities for KCC in the years ahead.
Together with the KCC Board, the Executive Director will be responsible for developing and implementing KCC’s vision and a strategic plan.
The Board undertook a thorough and comprehensive search process, engaging Judy Wong-See of Credence International.
A comprehensive job description capturing the vision of KCC and the scope of the role was formulated at the outset, followed by a comprehensive national advertising campaign across Christian media and KCC’s databases.
Credence International received more than 45 enquiries about the position and a shortlist of applicants was created based on KCC's specific needs. The shortlisted applicants were then interviewed twice by a panel.
By a significant margin the outstanding candidate was Jonathan Dykes. Jonathan has been acting in the role of caretaker Executive Officer since July this year.
‘After an exhaustive search Jonathan's skill set, character and commitment to KCC make him the best person for the role. We are very pleased Jonathan has accepted this position’ said KCC Chairman, Al Stewart.
Jonathan will take up this position on 1st February 2012. He is married to Sarah, has four children and is a member of Macquarie Baptist Church, in North Ryde, Sydney. Jonathan worked professionally as a Landscape Architect before training for ministry at Sydney Missionary & Bible College. He has been engaged in workplace ministry and lecturing in the past ten years and is currently completing studies for ordination at Morling Theological College. Jonathan has attended KCC conventions for many years, has led the Katoomba Easter Convention committee for the past six years and, most recently, the Oxygen committee.
