Training the next gen of Uganda

next gen has already been transplanted to nearly every state of Australia and many areas of the world including Ireland, Indonesia, Mongolia and New Zealand. next gen may soon be adding another country to its export list.

In January, two Uganda youth ministers attended the next gen conference because of evangelical friends from country NSW. Enock Karamuzi, a youth minister in the North Kigesi area in Uganda said 'while there are hundreds of people who respond to the gospel at large evangelistic events in Uganda, when they return the thorns of the world come and many don't remain Christian.'

Within just a few days of attending next gen, they saw the way forward. 'What we need to do is teach our youth leaders to teach the Bible. That is what will result in people becoming established as Christians'. He asked if kcc would be a partner to help establish a conference along the lines of next gen.

With approximately 60% of the population under 20 (that is, approx 18 million young people), Uganda has one of the youngest populations in the world. This is an incredible opportunity God has brought to kcc to have a real and genuine Gospel impact in the world by importing the simple next gen method for understanding and teaching the Bible as the foundation of ministry.

kcc is pleased to announce that the first next gen Uganda conference will happen in December 2009. The plan is for experienced kcc next gen leaders to spend a week in Uganda to lead the conference and train locals to do it next time. kyck has partnered with next gen to raise the $15 000 necessary by taking a voluntary collection.
