Stay up to date with NextGen 2020 on social media: The tagline of Katoomba Easter Convention (KEC) is ‘Go as a Family. Grow as a Family.’ Since its launch in 1962, KEC has been committed to serving delegates of all ages and life-stages with the powerful preaching of God’s word. Over the years, KEC has become a family tradition for many, with some of our delegates attending for over three decades. Here are 5 benefits of attending Katoomba Easter Convention as a family: 1. An opportunity for parents to sit under God’s word without distractions At KEC, there is a program tailored for every member of your family. For parents of young children, we know that fitting in quality time under God’s word is not always possible. KEC gives parents an opportunity to hear powerful preaching without the distractions of little ones. Each morning and evening, adults are invited to gather in the main auditorium to be refreshed by powerful preaching, uplifting worship and inspiring interviews. "I love watching the dedicated Toddler team in action. Young adult leaders who volunteer their Easter break to lovingly care for littlies so that their parents can benefit from undisturbed Bible teaching in the Auditorium. That is Christian community in action." - Jenny & John 2. An opportunity for children of all ages to learn from God’s word While parents meet in the main auditorium, they can rest assured that their child or teenager is being looked after in one of 8 fantastic programs - from babies all the way to senior high students. Each year, approximately 300 volunteers serve more than 1,000 children and youth. In 2019, Quizworx will be returning to serve the stage with fun, drama, music, stories, puppets and most importantly, the message of Jesus from the Bible. "As a Year 10 student, the junior high program changed my life. I honestly credit KEC of 2004 with changing my life. I came back to volunteer when I finished school to be that encouragement to the next generation of kids." - Cherith 3. Fellowship as a family For many of our delegates, KEC has become a family tradition and a unique time of fellowship. There is plenty of time in the program to spend quality time together and to discuss and pray over the things that each family member has learned. At KEC, you will also be encouraged to set goals and spiritual disciplines together. "For 15 years we have benefited from the preaching of God’s Word at KEC. Our children have grown up through the Children and Youth programs, and two of them are now serving faithfully in their churches." - Christine 4. Develop lifelong friendships KEC will give you the opportunity to experience enriching fellowship with believers across Australia. Delegates who return on an annual basis delight in making new friends and being able to catch up with old ones. "Meeting new and old people each year is so amazing - it's my little piece of what enriching fellowship in heaven could be like." - Alicia 5. Switch off as a family in the beautiful Blue Mountains KEC is a great opportunity to leave behind the busyness of life, and to switch off from work and technology in the beautiful Blue Mountains. Easter Convention takes place at the KCC Conference Centre in Katoomba - nestled amongst 13 hectares of spectacular bushland on the edge of the Blue Mountains World Heritage National Park. KEC also encourages the digital generation to leave behind the TV, mobile phone, computer and video games and to refocus on spiritual matters. "KEC is a family investment in eternity. In an age where making the 'right' investment appears to the goal, KEC is a no brainer. KEC provides all our family and I an opportunity to sit under wonderful Bible-based teaching. The non-denominational environment creates a unique sense of truly being 'All One In Christ Jesus'." - Rod & Katherine Katoomba Easter Convention is an annual retreat for the whole family.
