Tickets now available for Onward 18

Registrations have opened for Onward, KCC's newest convention aimed at addressing some of the cultural issues facing Christians today.

God never changes, but culture does. God doesn't call Christians to retreat from the world; he calls us to live in it, as his people. What exactly does that look like, in real life? Answering this question is what Onward 18 is all about.

Onward 18 - High Schoolers (Under 18's event)

Date: Friday 29 June

Onward 18 - Young Adults & Adults

Date: Saturday 30 June
Time: 5:00pm - 9:45pm
Speakers: Michael Ramsden (International Director, RZIM) and Peter Williams (Principal, Tyndale House)
Ticket Price: $69 (adult) or $49 (concession)

A record 6,200+ youth attend KYCK 18 to hear and respond to the gospel

Over three weekends in April, a record 6,224 teenagers and youth leaders attended KYCK, a conference for high schoolers. Held at the Katoomba Christian Convention (KCC) conference site in the Blue Mountains, KYCK is an annual event for youth to hear great Bible teaching and to grow in their faith in Jesus. The largest youth groups travelled from St. Paul's Anglican Church (Carlingford), Christ Church Gladesville and Crossroads Christian Church (Canberra).

At KYCK 18, guest speakers Matt Sparks (Anchor Church), Sam Low (City On A Hill, Brisbane) & Danny Mitchell (Arundel Presbyterian) preached from the book of 1 Peter, exhorting youth to respond to the gospel of Jesus, and to be encouraged to follow their saviour who is from 'out of this world':

“The Christian walk is more than just a weekend away. We are exiles in this world for our lifetime. So you need to be equipped and packed for the journey home. Pack your readiness to share Jesus, arm yourself to suffer like Jesus, look out for each other and remember that Jesus is with you.”

Across three weekends, 129 teenagers committed to Jesus for the first time, and a staggering 524 recommitted their lives to him. Those who responded were given an opportunity to speak to our team of volunteer counsellors who guided them through the process of repentance and faith, and worked to ensure that they would all be followed up by local church leaders.

Youth meet with counsellors after responding to the gospel.

The KYCK program also aims to give delegates an opportunity to fellowship with other youth groups, a rare and encouraging experience for teenagers who attend smaller churches in rural areas.

To facilitate this, KYCK 18 hosted ‘KYCK On’ on Saturday afternoon, an event which involved an inflatable obstacle course, country skills zone, acoustic band stage and a silent disco. An afternoon tea and KYCK BBQ was also available to fundraise for local High School Scripture teachers.

While the KYCK program is designed for youth, it also exists to serve youth group leaders who are given a break from running the program and giving talks. Instead, they are able to use the weekend to invest in relationships and help youth understand and respond to God's word. Many leaders find that their relationship with youth is strengthened after a weekend of bonding, learning and sharing together.

According to the KYCK Committee Chair, Andy Stevenson, KYCK is a powerful ministry that God is using to raise the next generation of disciples in Australia:

“KYCK has been running for 25 years and thousands attend every year. Our delegates begin or grow their faith in Jesus through great Bible teaching, have an amazing time being part of something so much bigger than their local church, while also being encouraged to keep going as a Christian. What privilege to be a part of this powerful ministry that God is using year after year.”
