The OneLove committee has released the official talk titles for OneLove 2017 "For Eternity".
Delegates will hear three Bible talks delivered by guest speakers Nancy Guthrie and Mike Raiter from the following passages: Talk 1: Eternal Home (Psalm 90) - Nancy Guthrie Talk 2: Eternal Glory (2 Corinthians 4) - Michael Raiter Talk 3: Eternal Life (Rev. 21-22) - Nancy Guthrie According to OneLove Chairwoman Julianne Jones, the event will be a unique opportunity to step away from the pressures of everyday life and to learn how to live in the present with eyes firmly fixed on Eternity: In the busyness of our lives it is easy to lose sight of the hope we have in Christ, or to have that sight go a little blurry. OneLove is a wonderful opportunity to spend a day away from the pressures and distractions of life, to sit under God’s word and lift our eyes from ourselves and be in awe of God’s majesty. OneLove is suitable for women of all ages and life stages, and is a place where seekers can hear the gospel in a non-threatening environment. In 2016, Malcolm delivered a practical talk on discipleship, encouraging men to see the value of intergenerational discipleship within churches. According to BASECAMP delegate Riley Spring, the talk was memorable and has stuck with him in his service as a youth worker and pastoral intern:
"A memorable moment was hearing a talk from Malcolm Gill where he encouraged us to pursue a Paul, be a Barnabas and train a Timothy. It has stuck with me and I think of it often as a discipleship model. - Riley Spring BASECAMP Mountains will be held on the 4 - 5 August at the KCC Conference Centre in Katoomba. Simon Manchester will be speaking from the book of Proverbs on the topic "Foolproof: The Practical Wisdom of the Proverbs." Standard tickets are available until the 20 August from the OneLove website: www.onelovewomen.com Katoomba Christian Convention has announced the return of Oxygen Conference in 2018. The conference will run for 3 days between the 26-28 June at the Sydney Olympic Park. Launched in 2011, Oxygen is Australia’s largest and only interdenominational, national, ministry conference. Across two events in 2011 and 2014, Oxygen has hosted over 3,700 delegates from every state and territory in Australia, and from countries as far as Dubai, Cambodia, India, Slovenia, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Nigeria and Spain. As its name suggests, Oxygen serves the purpose of fuelling passion for Christian ministry. For delegates committed to full-time pastoral work, Oxygen is a unique time to rest under God’s Word, and to worship Him in the company of thousands of like-minded gospel workers. The largest interstate group from 2014 was a group of 24 from Oakden Baptist Church in South Australia. According to Senior Pastor Timon, Oxygen gave his ministry team an opportunity to bond and to be equipped and refreshed in gospel work: “It is important to attend conferences like Oxygen because without a continual reminder of the resources that God has given us in Christ, we can easily become driven by our own ministry idolatries and lose our sense of awe. Many conferences you walk away thinking that you have to strive however at this conference I walked away more in love with my Shepherd. The largest overseas contingent was a group of 11 from Grace Baptist Church in Singapore. According to group leaders Caleb and Bibianna, prioritising time to rest at conferences like Oxygen is an essential part of soul care in ministry: “As ministry leaders, so many of us neglect our relationship with Christ and “Often leaders in the church feel isolated due to a lack of care but at conferences like these, leaders can rest at the feet of Jesus. I came out of each session with a deeper sense of worship and awe of God.” Sign up for updates! |
