We are thrilled to have Simon Manchester speak on the BASECAMP platform this year.
Simon serves as the rector of St. Thomas Anglican in North Sydney, hosts the 'Christian Growth' program on Hope 103.2 radio station, and inspires many with his life of gospel generosity including his long-standing friendship with a convicted murderer.
Although Simon grew up in a church-going family, he remained a self-confessed 'nominal Christian', up until the age of 18. After his father's death at the age of 14, Simon was relieved of the pressure to attend church each Sunday.
His life changed when in his last year of high school, Simon accepted the invitation to attend a 'Study Camp' organised by Christians. It was at this camp that he realised that although he knew the basic Bible stories, he was a stranger to God who needed forgiveness:
