With registrations now open for NextGen, KEC and KYCK, KCC is excited to see many groups taking up the opportunity gather together at our events to explore God’s Word. So, after a restricted and isolated year, why not plan your 2022 event calendar and encourage one another in the Word of God? Whether you gather as groups in person in the mountains or gather in the comfort of your home to livestream our events, KCC welcomes you to come together as ‘All One in Christ Jesus’, spur each other on in faith and help to keep this Bible-preaching ministry going. As we look forward to 2022, KCC is excited by the opportunities ahead for in-person and livestream events to enable all types of groups to meet and gather together in whatever format or way works for them. The online DIY format of NextGen in January means groups are not limited by distance, accessibility or time to be able to complete their training. This was a real benefit earlier this year for the Refresh Summer Camp, where the group took the opportunity to complete the NextGen training and learn how to teach the Bible together. “We held our first Refresh Mentors Training Camp last week in lieu of hosting our annual youth camp due to COVID. Despite these circumstances out of our control, we knew God is in control and good so we nervously prepared with great expectations! It was indeed a paradigm-shifting week being trained in character, convictions and competence under God's Word. We left camp feeling challenged, encouraged, equipped and spurred on to keep living a life of service to God and to others! Appreciated our timely collab with NextGen this year!" – Refresh Summer Camp Youth groups will also have the benefit of gathering as groups with the return of KYCK in 2022 in Katoomba and also via livestream. With registrations now open, we’ve been encouraged by the hundreds of churches and groups booking in their place and gearing up to learn more from the Book of Philippians. It’s especially encouraging to hear how KYCK plays a huge part in a church’s youth group program for the year, as one Youth Leader shares after attending KYCK earlier this year: “We usually see Term 1 and KYCK as a phase of "gathering" the youths, and then after the clear gospel talks at KYCK we then go onto growing and training them in Term 2 and 3.” Although KCC events haven’t quite been the same in the past two years, what has been encouraging to us is the way groups have creatively initiated gatherings to enjoy the conventions together. We’ve enjoyed reading how group gatherings, whether in person or virtual, has edified and strengthened individuals in their faith. “It was wonderful to be able to experience OneLove with the other women in my family at home as it encouraged us to have deeper conversations about life and faith - and holiness!” – Sarah, OneLove 2021 Delegate “I was able to sit with my mates and share some great teaching and fellowship afterwards. We were able to have some good discussion around the masculinity topics.” – Graeme, BASECAMP 2020 Delegate Our hope for 2022 is that groups will continue this trajectory of finding innovative ways to meet together and keep spurring each other on in their faith. As we open our Katoomba convention centre again, improve our digital platforms and welcome groups to gather together, we hope many more can be transformed by Jesus Christ through the ministry. So, invite your friends along to our upcoming KCC events, purchase your tickets and start planning for an encouraging and uplifting 2022 ahead! How You Can Help Grow this Ministry Whilst things are looking positive for 2022 events, in reality it has been a tough two years for KCC financially. The past two years in COVID-19 has cost the ministry over $1,000,000 in lost accommodation revenue, refunds and other impacts. We have been enormously thankful for our supporters and donors who have already given generously and are always watchful in asking more from you than we already have. We are also thankful for our regular supporters and delegates who invited friends to our livestream events and introduced KCC to a new audience. This allowed us to increase and grow the ministry beyond Katoomba. Inviting friends and encouraging group gatherings is a wonderful way you can help grow this ministry and keep our conventions going. But there are two more ways you could help us this year:
