We recently had the pleasure of speaking to Anna, a year 12 student and KYCK delegate. In this interview, Anna shares how after struggling in her faith, God used the fellowship and teaching at KYCK 21 to draw her back to Him.
1. How many years have you attended KYCK? I’m currently in year 12, studying for the HSC and have attended KYCK three times with BASIC Youth Group. 2. What is your highlight from attending KYCK conference? My KYCK highlight is being able to connect with other Christians who are very much like me and share the same faith. Just knowing that I'm in a large tent with hundreds of people with the same goal makes me feel safe. 3. How has KYCK encouraged your faith? If I'm being honest, I took a break from my Christian life last year and really pushed God away from me, but after going to KYCK, I noticed how much God can impact my life in so many positive ways. I can't shut the door on Him. 4. What did you learn from KYCK21? During KYCK 2021, I was able to learn that God is the real judge, but regardless of my weight, grades, career, imperfections and sins, He still chose to die on the cross for me. No one will graciously die for you the way God did. 5. Why would you encourage others to attend? Even though I did not want to go to KYCK this year, my uncle encouraged me to attend with the hope that I learn or discover something. Let me tell you guys...you can never guess or expect what God can do! God has plans for everyone, so please be strong and courageous, attend KYCK, and find out what He has planned for you!!!
The KYCK 4 Early Bird ends 30 June
Did you miss out on KYCK 21 earlier this year?
There’s still an opportunity to gather with us this Spring! Our 4th weekend of KYCK will be happening on the 24-26 September at the KCC site in Katoomba. Early Bird tickets are still available at $71pp, and will give you access to 6 fantastic talks, booklet and pen, morning tea (Saturday & Sunday) and a weekend of fun and fellowship. The Early Bird rate will end on the 30 June, so make sure you register today at: https://www.kyck.org.au/ An Indispensable Ministry for the Next Generation
Over the years, we have heard countless stories of God using KCC events to transform the lives of individuals and entire families. By God grace, our delegates have made drastic decisions to follow Christ, return as volunteers, and even dedicate their lives to full-time Christian ministry. What is all this worth?
The financial challenges continue for KCC
Although God provided for KCC in 2020 through generous donors, 2021 is still proving to be a challenge for the events industry. The financial challenge presented by COVID is a continuing one, and as a result our cash reserves have been depleted. There are several reasons for this including the issuing of refunds to delegates, the doubling of our insurance premium and ongoing site upkeep costs.
So, we need your help. KCC needs to raise $1M by December and $300k by June. This fundraising goal will help us to avoid debt and take up some wonderful opportunities made possible by livestreaming and the launch of ‘KCC One’, our brand-new digital platform. We need your help to ensure that KCC continues running in 2021 and beyond. Give today so that we can keep serving the KCC family, for generations to come: www.kcc.org.au/give.html
